What a typical Norcross site needs
Picture a 35-person distributor off Jimmy Carter Boulevard. Eight people work in the front office on laptops. Twenty work in the warehouse with handheld scanners. There are four packing stations, each with a PC, a scale and a thermal label printer. The owner runs the business from a phone. A server or cloud ERP holds orders and inventory, and a carrier's shipping software prints the labels. When any one piece stops, product stops moving.
Our IT support covers that whole picture under one agreement:
- Help desk by phone, email or portal for anyone at the site, including warehouse and shop staff who don't have a desk.
- Scanners and mobile devices: setup, enrollment, app updates, battery and charger tracking, and replacement when a unit is dropped one too many times.
- Label and document printers: drivers, network settings, label templates and the link to shipping and ERP software.
- Shared floor and packing PCs: locked down so they only run what the job needs, patched on a schedule that avoids shift hours, and quick to restore if one fails.
- Network and Wi-Fi: firewalls, switches and access points monitored day and night, with the dock and racks treated as part of the network, not an afterthought.
- Office PCs and laptops: setup, updates, monitoring and support, the same as any office.
- Vendor calls: we deal with your internet provider, ERP or warehouse software vendor, printer supplier and phone company so your manager doesn't spend an afternoon on hold.
Wi-Fi in a warehouse is its own problem
A wireless network that works in an empty building can fail once the racks are full. Metal shelving, stacked product, concrete walls and roll-up doors all block or bounce the signal. Scanners also behave differently from laptops. They roam from one access point to the next as a picker walks, and a slow handoff can drop the session in the middle of an order.
We start with a walk-through and a signal survey of the aisles, dock and mezzanine. Then we place access points for how the space is used today, set them up for fast roaming and keep scanner traffic on its own network, separate from guest phones and office laptops. When you re-rack or add a building, we check the coverage again before go-live day.
Shift work and shared stations
Many Norcross sites run more than one shift. Problems at 6 a.m. or 4 p.m. matter as much as problems at noon. We schedule patches and restarts for the quiet hours you tell us about and watch devices around the clock, so a full disk or failed update is often fixed before the next shift clocks in.
Shared PCs are where support and security meet. We replace the single floor login with individual sign-ins that take seconds, so you know who did what and can turn off a former worker's access the day they leave.
A team with more than one language
Plenty of crews in Norcross speak Spanish, Korean, Vietnamese or another language at least as well as English. Our engineers speak English, and we plan for that. Help desk guides are short, built around screenshots and numbered steps, so they work well with a phone translation app. A bilingual lead on your side can relay updates, and we make it easy for anyone to report a problem by message or photo.
Downtown offices and older buildings
Not every Norcross client runs a warehouse. We also support law, accounting, insurance and medical offices, plus restaurants and shops in and around the historic downtown. Older brick buildings and aging flex space bring their own issues: thin cabling, a shared telecom closet, Wi-Fi that won't reach the back room. We document what's there and fix it in steps.
Starting out
We begin with a site walk, a device inventory and a list of the systems you can't run without. Within the first month we have every device monitored, every worker on their own sign-in and a single way for the team to ask for help.
Questions about it support
Can you support our handheld scanners and label printers?
Yes. We set up, update and troubleshoot them, manage their Wi-Fi and work with the device maker or your shipping software vendor when the problem is on their side.
Do you support businesses that run evening or weekend shifts?
Yes. We plan maintenance around your shift pattern and monitor devices all the time. Support hours and urgent-response targets for off-hours issues are set out in your agreement.
